What is a Targeted Assistance School?
As a Title I Targeted Assistance School, Cherokee Charter receives limited funds to support additional educational programming. This funding goes toward providing additional instructional support for those students identified as having the greatest academic needs.
What is the difference between Targeted Assistance and School Wide Programming?
To qualify as a School Wide Title I School a certain percentage of the student population must be served under the Federal Free and Reduced Lunch Program. Here at Cherokee Charter, we do not meet that percentage.
Title I, Section 1118 of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (ESEA) requires that each school receiving Title I, Part A funds jointly develop a School-Parent Compact with stakeholders. The Cherokee Charter 2015-2016 School-Parent Compact can be found by emailing Mrs. Wallis at email@example.com or you can find hard copies located in the front lobby.
